Soka University Gains Commitment from Orinda Aquatics’ Kassy Gregory
NEW COMMIT: Soka University has gained a new in-state commitment for the upcoming 2019-20 season from Moraga, Calif. native Kassy Gregory.
Gregory does her club swimming with Orinda Aquatics and recently competed in a pair of events at the SCSC Senior Open in December and notched a best time at the WCAB Senior Open in October. Also competing for Campolindo, Gregory raced the 200 free at the 47th Mission Viejo High School Invitational in March.
She told Swimming World:
“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to Soka University of America. I’m incredibly honored to continue my academic and athletic career at such an exceptional college. I want to thank my coaches, Ronnie and Donnie Heidary, and my teammates for helping me develop into the swimmer and person I am today. And I want to thank my family and friends for their continued love and support. I’m excited to begin this new journey with a wonderful team led by Coach Crossen. Go Lions!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 26.59
- 100 free – 57.67
- 200 free – 2:04.62
When she suits up for the Lions as a member of the class of 2023, Gregory will add her talents to a freestyle group that’ll include Clarissa Cheam, Lily Feast and Sydney Sansbury.
