SMININFO Covers Open Water Champs; Read Kalyn Keller’s On-Line Diary
HONOLULU, Oct. 28. SWIMINFO will be providing stories and results of the First FINA Open Water World Championships, which begin on Tuesday, October 31 and continue through November 4.
We will also publish an on-line diary by America's gold medal hope in the 5K open water swim, Kalyn Keller.
Kalyn, 15, a silver medalist at the 1999 Pan American Games, won the US open water title after the US Olympic Trials last August, where she finaled in the 200 fly, 400 free and 800 free. She finished fourth in the 800.
A sophomore at Arcadia High School in Phoenix, she is the sister of US Olympian Klete Keller, 18, who set an American record (3:47.00) in winning the bronze medal in the 400 free in Sydney. He also anchored the USA's silver-medal-winning 4 x 200 free relay.
