Slippery Rock University announced it will not be dropping men’s varsity water polo for the upcoming year. After reviewing all of the options the administration has agreed to maintain sponsorship of the program next season. “I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to completing my recruiting for the fall season,” stated Jim Yeamans, Head Men’s and Women’s Coach.
The news follows the announcement of several new programs in the Slippery Rock area. For years, Slippery Rock maintained its program in isolation, with only one other varsity team within five hours of the campus. Now Yeamans has witnessed the addition of four new programs within two hours of his school and is looking forward to even more growth in the years to come.
