Shaine Casas Rips Unofficial Fastest Time Ever in SCY 100 IM
Texas A&M junior Shaine Casas swam a 46.33 in the 100 IM in short course yards in Texas A&M’s intrasquad meet on Friday night after its dual meet with in-state foe Incarnate Word ended up getting cancelled. Although the 100 IM is not an official USA Swimming event with no record on the books, Casas’ time is quicker than Chris Staka’s 47.23 from earlier this season which is one of the fastest times ever record in the men’s 100 IM in yards.
Casas also swam the 50 free in 19.70 and led off the 200 free relay with a 20.54.
Shaine Casas holds the fastest time in the nation in the 100 & 200 back and the 200 IM this season.
