Seminoles Keep Florida 4A State Champion Dominic Miller In-State for 2021-22

NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has kept Dominic Miller of St. Johns, Fla. in the Sunshine State after his commitment to the Seminoles beginning in the fall of 2021.

He will join Tyler Hanley, Jason BrzozowskiAuben Nugent, Kevin GlennArijus Pavlidi and Rian Covington in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles’ class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am very excited and proud to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Florida State University! I want to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teammates who motivate me to work harder every day and pursue my dreams. I can’t wait to be a part of this team and see what else I can accomplish! GO NOLES!??”

Miller, who does his club swimming with Loggerhead Aquatics, is a Junior National qualifier who was the runner-up in both the 100 free and 100 fly at the 18&U Winter Championships in Stuart last weekend. In 2019, he was a finalist at Gainesville Sectionals and placed 10th in the 100 back at the Florida Spring Championships.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.67
  • 100 free – 45.24
  • 50 fly – 22.95
  • 100 fly – 49.40

Also competing for Creekside High School, Miller is a six-time individual Florida 4A State Championship finalist. He placed fourth in the 100 fly and fifth in the 50 free as a senior while taking seventh in the 100 fly and 10th in the 100 back during his junior season.

In 2020, he led off the winning 4×50 free relay in 20.67 to help his team finish second overall at the state meet.

Under head coach Neal Studd, Florida State finished fifth overall in the team standings at the 2020 ACC Championships.
