SEC Weekly Awards: Tyler Watson, Meghan Lee Lead Honorees

The SEC announced its weekly swimming and diving honors.

SEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week: Tyler Watson, Florida

Florida’s Tyler Watson, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., posted three NCAA B-cut times at the Auburn Invitational. Watson won the 1650 free with a time of 14:48.34, the sixth fastest time in the nation. He also placed third in the 500 free (4:17.71) and fifth in the 400 IM (3:48.46).

SEC Men’s Co-Divers of the Week: Carlo Lopez, Missouri and Takuto Endo, Texas A&M

Missouri’s Carlo Lopez, a senior from Edmonton, Alberta, finished first on platform at the Air Force Diving Invitational with a final score of 354.60. Lopez came in seventh on the 3-meter with a score of 355.35 and 10th on the 1-meter with a score of 298.80.

Texas A&M’s Takuto Endo, a junior from Tagaho, Japan, placed in the top six of all three events at the Air Force Diving Invitational. Endo took fourth place in the 1-meter with a score of 356.15 and sixth place on the 3-meter with a score of 360.20. He posted his highest score of the season on platform with a 328.25, good for fifth place.

SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week: Ed Fullum-Huot, Florida

Florida’s Ed Fullum-Huot, a freshman from Montreal, Canada, collected two individual wins at the Auburn Invitational. Fullum-Huot touched the wall first in the 100 free with a time of 42.49, the 20th fastest time in the nation, and in the 50 free with a time of 19.46. He also placed 11th in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.28.

SEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Meghan Lee, Auburn

Auburn’s Meghan Lee, a junior from Timonium, Md., won the 100 fly at the Auburn Invitational with a time of 52.25, the 24th fastest time in the nation and the fastest time for Auburn this season. Lee also earned a third-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 50.12.

SEC Women’s Diver of the Week: Alyssa Clairmont, Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s Alyssa Clairmont, a senior from Regina, Saskatchewan, claimed three podium finishes at the Air Force Diving Invitational. Clairmont swept the springboard events with a top score of 311.70 on the 1-meter and 346.70 on the 3-meter. She was also runner-up on platform with a final score of 241.35.

SEC Women’s Freshman of the Week: Sterling Burd, South Carolina

South Carolina’s Sterling Burd, a freshman from Hilton Head Island, S.C., set personal best times in all four events she competed in at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Burd earned the highest finish of her career in the 200 fly, placing third with a time of 2:00.69. She also placed fifth in the 500 free (4:48.09) and seventh in the 200 free (1:51.73). Burd swam a time trial for the 100 fly, coming in at 55.98.
