MERCER ISLAND, Washington, September 15. Together, the members of the Redhawk swim team that participated in some way raised $4,460, part of over $240,000 raised on behalf of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The swimmers completed a two-mile course that began at the Mercerwood Shore Club and ended at Luther Burbank Park.

Assistant coach Katherine Kubancik finished in sixth place among the women, with Arianna Sapp (Silverdale, Wash.) right behind her in seventh place. Melissa Randolf (Everett, Wash.) also took part in the swim, while Allie McGavock (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) was on hand to support the team, plus she raised money on behalf of the cause.
On the men’s side, Kyle Moline (Mercer Island, Wash.) finished in second place, followed by Nick Connors (Richland, Wash.) in fifth place. Gabe Wheeler (Round Rock, Texas) finished the two-mile swim in 11thplace, and incoming freshman Ben Nussbaum (Issaquah, Wash.) ended up in 21st place overall.
