Sean Slusiewicz Announces Verbal Commitment to Stanford
NEW COMMIT: Stanford has added a new verbal for the fall of 2019, this time from Aliso Viejo, Calif. native Sean Slusiewicz. He will join Neel Roy, Andrew Matejka and Will Tarvestad as members of the class of 2023.
Slusiewicz swims year-round with Irvine Novaquatics where he is a three-time U.S. Open qualifier with Junior National cuts in nearly all other events. He recorded lifetime bests in his three events at Junior Nationals in August and finished 13th in the 50m free (23.43) and 11th in the 100m fly (54.70). He won the 50 free (20.43) at the Carlsbad Speedo Sectionals and notched a trio of best times at Juniors West last December.
Also representing Aliso Niguel High School, Slusiewicz is a four-time finalist at the CIF State Championships. As a junior, he placed fifth in the 50 free (20.42) and tenth in the 100 free (45.57). During his sophomore campaign, he finished sixth in 50 free (20.76) and ninth in the 100 breast (56.59).
He told Swimming World:

Slusiewicz’s versatility will be extremely valuable when he arrives on The Farm for the 2019-20 season and he could find himself in a number of different of events. He’ll join a sprint group that includes Andrew Liang and Alberto Mestre and a stroke group that includes Brennan Pastorek and Hank Poppe.
