SCHSL Champion Grace Hunt Pledges 2026 Verbal To Georgia
NEW COMMIT: Greer, South Carolina native and Junior National qualifier Grace Hunt has elected to continue her academic and swimming career at the University of Georgia starting in Fall 2026.
She will join Brooke Bennett and Virginia Hinds as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2030.
She told Swimming World:
“I am extremely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Georgia! I want to thank God, my coaches, friends, family, and everyone who helped me get to where I am today. Huge thanks to Coach Stefanie, Coach Fernando, and Coach Jerry for this amazing opportunity to continue my swimming career at the next level! GO DAWGS!”
Hunt does her club swimming with Y-Spartaquatics. She most recently competed at Juniors East where she finished seventh in the 200 breast and 18th in the 100 breast, notching new best times in both. This past summer, she won the 50m breast and 200m breast at YMCA LCM Nationals after clinching the 100m breast at South Carolina LCM Seniors.
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:02.47
- 200 breast – 2:12.97
- 400 IM – 4:28.10
Currently a junior at Southside Christian School, Hunt won the 100 breast and 200 IM at the 2024 South Carolina 3A State Championships. She took first and third, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
