Sarah Sjostrom Just Misses World-Best In 100 Fly At 2019 Swedish Championships

Olympic Champion Sarah Sjostrom put up another fast time in the 100 fly at the 2019 Swedish Swimming Championships, just missing her season-best and adding to her remarkable consistency in the event ahead of the 2019 World Championships. That was her title title in two days at this meet.
Sjostrom won the 100 fly in 56.45, just .03 off her season-best of 56.42 from the 2019 FINA Champions Series in Indianapolis from May. She split 26.38/30.03 to put up her fifth time under 57 seconds this year. Emma McKeon is the only other woman in the world to break 57 seconds so far this year with her 56.85 from the 2019 Australian World Championship Trials.
With Sjostrom producing so consistent in this event it is hard to imagine anyone putting up a serious challenge for her fourth-straight World Championship title in the 100 fly. It would also be her fifth overall title in the event.

So confused! This photo doesn’t look like her, and there are no swimsuit straps over the shoulders; yet the side of the cap seems to have her name. ?????
Mary-Helen Hopkins I thought the same thing… why use a photo of a male swimmer when the story was about a female swimmer.
Hi Anne, I double checked our photos and that is indeed Sarah Sjostrom. She has her shoulders kind of scrunched up so you can’t see the very thin straps by her neck.
Anne Marks, and why is he wearing a cap with her name on the side of it? At least the first few letters of her name.
