Santa Margarita, St. Xavier Lead NISCA National Dual Meet Rankings

The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) has released its national dual meet rankings for the 2021-22 school year, and topping all teams were the girls from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in California and the boys St. Xavier High School in Kentucky. A total of 239 teams from 32 states participated in this competition, with Pennsylvania entering the most teams with 21, followed by Ohio (20), Michigan (17), Texas (17) and Illinois (16).

The objective of this program is to rank and recognize the top high school dual meet teams in each classification. Each time is given a point value based on the official NISCA Power Point Tables. The tables are designed to equate quality of a swimming time or diving total from event to event and from boys to girls. NISCA previously recognized the top-performing individuals in high school swimming with its All-America lists.

For the women, Santa Margarita scored 6957 points, while The Woodlands High School (Texas) finished second with 6506 and Southlake Carroll High School (Texas) was third at 6207. The men’s rankings saw St. Xavier score 6506 points while Loyola High School (Calif.) edged out Kingwood High School (Texas), 6203 to 6201. When points from girls and boys’ teams were combined, Santa Margarita came out on top with 13,121 points followed by Illinois’ New Trier High School (12,151) and The Woodlands (12,143).

For these rankings, schools were divided up based on public vs. independent and their enrollment. The six classifications for girls’ teams and boys’ teams are listed below with the top-ranked school for each.
