Santa Clara Swim Club Breaks Four 13-14 NAG Relay Records

The Santa Clara Swim Club broke four national age group records in mixed relays this week at the Super League Finals in Novato.

The team broke 13-14 NAG records in the mixed 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays during the meet.

“This group has been really focused and fun to work with. They are a talented group of swimmers and they have had their eyes on these records all summer,” Santa Clara coach Kevin Zacher said. “It was a lot of fun to watch them achieve that goal. They worked together to make it happen.”

The 200 mixed medley set the mark in 1:54.81 with Aiden Zhou (29.60), Shareef Elaydi (29.72), Isabel Wu (28.73) and Alison Su (26.76) comprising the relay.

In the 400 mixed medley, Santa Clara got to the wall in 4:11.32 behind Zhou (1:03.54), Mia Su (1:11.77), Elaydi (56.03) and Alison Su (57.87).

The 200 mixed free touched the wall in 1:42.91 with the same quartet – Elaydi (24.68), Zhou (24.55), Wu (27.05) and Alison Su (26.63).

The 400 mixed free was the same foursome in the same order with Elaydi (53.28), Zhou (54.85), Wu (59.19) and Alison Su (57.13) getting to the wall in a record 3:44.45.

It capped a banner performance for Santa Clara at the meet.
