Salmeen Named Rhodes Scholar

Annette Salmeen, a senior chemistry major at UCLA and a member of the 1996 US Olympic Team, was one of 32 American college students named as Rhodes Scholars for 1997.
Salmeen, who carries a 3.92 grade point average, won an Olympic gold medal on the 800 freestyle relay in Atlanta. She also swam the 200 fly, an event she won at the US Olympic Trials. She also won the 200 yard fly at the 1996 NCAA Championships.
