Ryley Ober and Ashley Turak Add Verbal Commitments to Indiana Hoosiers’ Class of 2023

NEW COMMIT: While still only April, the Indiana University women’s Class of 2023 has already grown to three. Ryley Ober and Ashley Turak have both given their verbal commitments to the team. They’ll join Emily Weiss as the Hoosiers’ newest athletes on campus in fall 2019.

Ryley Ober

A four time Florida high school state champion, Ober is a junior at Bayshore High School. She swims for Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Her top times are:

  • 100 Free 50.39
  • 200 Free 1:47.16
  • 500 Free 4:47.87
  • 200 Back 1:47.16

This fall at the Florida 2A High School state championships Ober won the 100 and 200 freestyles. She also won the 200 as a sophomore.

Ashley Turak

Turak is from Famington Hills, Michigan. She trains with Drop Aquatics and is a junior at Harrison High School.

In the fall Turak set the Michigan High School Division 1 50 freestyle record, touching in 22.38. She also won the 100 freestyle state title and was a key member of the winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

  • 100 Free 49.79
  • 200 Free 1:50.90
  • 100 Back 56.62
  • 100 Fly 56.18
