Ryan Lochte Shines At Southern Premier
Tennessee Aquatics got off to a strong start at the 2016 Summer Premier in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Erica Laning of Tennessee Aquatics took the women’s 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:59.82. She finished just ahead of Swim Atlanta’s Amanda Weir, who touched in 2:00.14. SwimMAC Carolina’s Erika Brown rounded out the top three with a time of 2:03.70.
SwimMAC Carolina’s Matthew Josa took the men’s race with a time of 1:51.73. Crawfish Aquatics’ Colin Bone was second in 1:51.87, and Tal Davis of Team Greenville was third in 1:51.88.
In the women’s 100-meter breaststroke, Tennessee Aquatics’ Molly Hannis touched in 1:06.16 to win the race. SwimMAC Carolina’s Katie Meili was second in 1:06.77 and Nashville Aquatic Club’s Allie Raab rounded out the top three with a time of 1:09.93.
Tennessee Aquatics’ Brad Craig touched first in the men’s race. He finished with a time of 1:03.23. Peter Stevens, swimming unattached, was second in 1:03.67. SwimMAC Carolina’s Will Chan was third, posting a time of 1:03.78.
Nashville Aquatic Club’s Alec Walsh won the women’s 200-meter backstroke in 2:12.97. SwimMAC Carolina’s Stephanie Nelson touched next in 2:15.50, and Lakeside’s Asia Seidt posted the night’s third fastest time in 2:16.49.
Ryan Lochte of SwimMAC Carolina made a statement in the men’s race, winning by over five seconds. He touched in 1:59.14. His teammate Nathan Murray was second with a time of 2:04.26. Metro Atlanta Aquatic Club’s Dean Farris touched next in 2:06.91.
In the women’s 400-meter individual medley, Madison Homovich won in 4:48.03. Lakeside’s Brooke Forde touched in second in 4:50.04, and Swim Atlanta’s Devan Sweeny took third in 4:54.15.
Swim Atlanta’s Marton Barta took first in the men’s race with at time of 4:19.81. Lakeside’s Clayton Forde matched his sister’s second place finish, touching in 4:25.94. Gulliver Swim Club’s Miguel Cancel rounded out the top three in 4:27.28.
The night ended with the men’s and women’s 800-meter freestyle relay. Lakeside took the women’s race in 8:27.86, and Lochte led SwimMAC Carolina to a men’s relay win. Lochte’s team touched in 7:45.98.
Tomorrow’s action will begin at 9 a.m.
