Ryan Lochte Protesters Rush the Stage During Dancing With the Stars

Last night Ryan Lochte made his Dancing With the Stars debut and it turned out to be a dramatic entrance.

While he and his partner were being critiqued by the judges two men wearing anti-Lochte shirts rushed the stage and headed for the Olympian. Security intervened, and the incident was not shown to live television audiences, but some in attendance captured views of the attack.

Additionally, a few women remained in the audience sporting anti-Lochte shirts as well. They were escorted out.

“Honestly it feels like somebody reached inside, took out my heart and just stepped on it.” Lochte said in a post-dance interview.

His sponsors including Speedo and Ralph Lauren responded to his Rio gas station incident by dropping the gold medalist. Lochte has been temporarily banned by USA Swimming and there has been public outrage as well. That outrage reached a new high last night on live television.

It’s America, so protesting is OK, however, these idiots that think protesting means you can do whatever you want to, need to be taught otherwise. Throw their behinds in jail for a few nights or give them a large fine and some community service. Enough is enough.

What a bunch of morons. What Ryan did by exaggerating(lying-your choice) about how the guys were robbed deserved a review by USA Swimming and I believe he deserved a suspension for embarrassing USA swimming and his team, but these people are nuts. We can thank most of the media for the “outrage” since they too lied by not fact checking the Rio authorities about the incident. I don’t condone getting snockered, yet the swimmers did do the responsible thing afterwards by taking a cab. I think DWTS deserves blame as well for not having better security for all their performers. At the same time, these “protesters” need to find a cause that actually makes a difference in the world. I’m glad the two who charged onto the stage were arrested and that the crowd shouted down the other 3 idiots with their “creative” NO Lochte shirts on.

Had this been a football, soccer, basketball incedent would the results be the same. These swimmer’s come our of months of training for the Olympics, let some steam off (stupidly) and now people are publicly attacking? Mind you these thugs probably don’t even have the facts, what are they protesting. .
Why don’t they just take a knee.

Stupid humans!!!! He’s been punished enough, FOR GETTING ROBBED!!!!! And he’s always been a wonderful example!! Shame on everybody who fed into this before all the facts were in ?Shame on America for not standing strong with all of those swimmers ?

Steph Wass

I was just about to say that they were wrong to do that, he has been punished…and they should not intervene but then I read the statement about ‘ripping heart out’ and I just want to tell him to grow up and get over himself ?…hope they got one slap in tbh

Truly sad you think any of this is justified because you think, along with many who don’t know him, that Lochte is a jerk. Try watching the video and you will see he was asked how he felt right after it happened.

This swimmer is a good guy, he gives back to the community. His gut feeling probably was heart wrenching, as is mine to see thugs physically attach someone. Are we now the judge and jury?

Susan Held Burch apparently some feel that way. I don’t understand why anyone thinks it would be ok if someone was assaulted just because you do t like something he said. And yes, while I do not know him, I do know several families from his team and all speak highly of him and how he treats others in the community as well as other swimmers. We’ve all done things we aren’t proud of at one time or another, but the over the top attitudes of people who still believe the media(other than USA Today) reports of wanton destruction and rampant disregard for authority. You know those Rio authorities are so trustworthy!!!!!

The nonsense that is thrown about on social media (which unfortunately now includes the news outlets) apparently now emboldens people like these idiots to act out in real life.

love all the rightous “americans” judging someone for something WE ALL HAVE DONE!!! worry about the really issues, offend yourself by the REAL moral issues being shat on, how about all those dead unborn babies or the redefinition of marriage… or the transgender bathroom issues…or how about Hillarys lies, those dangerous lies that have put our country in danger!!!

He made a mistake and is paying for it. I am sure that at some point in life we have all made mistakes that we wish we can take back. My daughter was fortunate enough to meet him last weekend and he was so nice and encouraging to her about her swimming. Took time out to talk to her and take pictures with her. Seemed like a super nice guy and an amazing athlete that made a mistake!

Maybe he should do something charitable rather to restore people’s thoughts about him. I mean he can’t dance anyway.

Many athletes, including Lochte, chose to do charitable things because they are right and not so someone can plaster it on television. Might want to check w SwiMac to see what Lochte does.

Robin Anderson – Can u get out there on a stage in front of X amount of viewers, having had a week or less to learn a dance that u have never done in your life?! Probably not, so please just be quiet! Ryan is & will be for a long time to come paying for his actions. He is human & made a mistake, just like all of us, though unlike all of us he is famous & the whole world got to be a witness to it!!!

Robin Anderson maybe you ought to do something besides be spoon fed by the same people who were too lazy to even see what actually happened. Look into it yourself or don’t say anything

Rick Stanfield in love with a champion swimmer, huh? Just because somebody can win doesn’t make them a good person. I was a nationally ranked swimmer myself and I know plenty of really great people of Ryan stature that did a whole lot more productive things with their life. I went to college with rowdy I swim against Tracy Caulkins and all of these people seem to avoid the kind of press that Ryan gets. I don’t think I’m the problem. So back off of attacking me. I have more experience than you will ever dream up with people like Ryan. There’s a thing called character and he doesn’t have it.

By all accounts other than this incident, which was petpetuated by the lazy media looking for a story, Ryan is a nice guy who has done a lot of charity work. For someone who claims to have such close ties to swimming, you sure don’t seem to know much about the second greatest male swimmer. Even your alleged buddy Rowdy says Ryan is a good guy who made a really stupid mistake. You also seem to have an overly inflated self image.

Silly bored “housewives.”

Faith Wysochanski Noll

Protesters need to educate themselves about the police in Brazil. Lochte got drunk & that was bad, but the police are not reputable there, some are in the employ of drug cartels and others are a kind of vigilante that routinely charge citizens “taxes” for protection and to avoid bogus charges. I am just glad nothing truly bad happened.
