Manaudou & Chupkov Among Swimmers to Participate in “Don’t Rush” Social Media Challenge
As the coronavirus quarantine continues around the world, many of the world’s top swimmers are finding new ways to stay engaged with each other. Recently, the French national swim team posted a video to Instagram highlighting their “Don’t Rush Challenge,” which is a social media trend that has become viral on the apps TikTok and Instagram.
The French swim team posted their video with members of the national team like Florent Manaudou, Charlotte Bonnet and David Aubry catching a swim cap in their regular clothes before changing into their swim suits and throwing their swim cap to the next person.
The Russian national swim team has done their own Don’t Rush Challenge with well known names participating like Yulia Efimova, Anton Chupkov and Evgeny Rylov in their homes. At the end of the video, Vladimir Morozov held up an American cap to the camera and the caption read “@usaswimming, are you going to join?”
USA Swimming has been known to participate in viral social media challenges, most notably the “Call me Maybe” lip sync video ahead of the 2012 Olympics and the “Carpool Karaoke” ahead of the 2016 Games.
