Roos Vanotterdijk Rewrites History Books With Nine Belgian Records At Flemish Championships

European junior champion Roos Vanotterdijk shredded the history books as she set nine Belgian records across three days at the Flemish Championships in Antwerp.

The 18-year-old started her bull run on Friday in the 100 free when she lowered the new mark to 54.72, slicing 0.18 from Valentine Dumont‘s 2019 record of 54.90.

She then cut a further 0.21 in the evening final to set a new record of 54.51.

Come the 100 back and she lowered her own mark to 1:00.08 before becoming the first Belgian woman inside a minute in 59.62.

The six-time European junior medallist lowered the 50 free mark to 25.29 before cutting it further to 25.17 and then went inside 28secs in the 50 back in 27.97 after a heat record of 28.06.

Vanotterdijk then went inside her national 100 fly mark of 57.85 in 57.82 on Sunday for her final record of the weekend.
