NEW COMMIT: The University of Richmond has added a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Moorestown, N.J. native Christina Levins.

She will join Laura Davis and Carstyn Klosterman as a member of the Spiders’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“i’m super excited to finally announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic careers at the University of Richmond!! i’d like to thank my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for all of their support throughout the process. can’t wait to join this amazing team and coaching staff for the next 4 years! go spiders!!??”

A talented breaststroker and IMer, Levins does her club swimming with MLY Phoenix and had six top-12 finishes at the Arena Capital Classic in December. She finished 10th in the 100m breast at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors last summer and raced four events at YMCA Nationals in April 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 50 breast – 29.69
  • 100 breast – 1:03.00
  • 200 breast – 2:19.93
  • 200 IM – 2:05.97

Also competing for Moorestown Friends School, Levins is a four-time New Jersey Meet of Champions finalist. She placed fourth in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 IM as a junior while taking fifth and seventh, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

Levins will make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus next year. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 breast as well as the B-final of the 200 breast at the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships where Richmond placed fourth overall in the team standings.
