Rhode Island Adds California’s Emma Lee, New York’s Jackie Triglia to Class of 2025

NEW COMMITS: The University of Rhode Island has added two new verbal commitments to their growing class of 2025 from Trabuco Canyon, Calif. native Emma Lee and Jackie Triglia of West Islip, N.Y.

Both talented swimmers will join Hannah Benavides and Casey Fusco in South Kingstown in the fall of 2021.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Rhode Island! A big thank you to my family, friends, teammates, teachers, and coaches for supporting me along the way. I am so grateful to begin the next chapter of my life doing what I love for the next four years. I cant wait to be apart of this amazing team! Go Rhody!!?”

Lee does her club swimming with Mission Viejo Nadadores and most recently earned two best times at College Station Sectionals in March after placing eighth in the 800m free at the Husky Invite in December. Last summer, she raced four events at Mount Hood Futures and notched two PBs.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:08.29
  • 400 IM – 4:35.21
  • 200 fly – 2:09.40
  • 500 free – 5:05.39
  • 1000 free – 10:23.24
  • 1650 free – 17:33.61

Also competing for Tesoro High School, Lee has competed at the CIF DI Southern Section Championships twice. She placed 15th in the 500 free and 19th in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking 28th and 23rd, respectively, in those events during her freshman campaign.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I have DREAMED about this day since I was a little girl to go off to college to swim just like my cousins, so without further ado… I could not be happier to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University of Rhode Island!!!! A special thank you to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for supporting me through this journey and inspiring me each day. GO RAMS!!!!!”

Triglia swims year-round with Connetquot Swim Club and raced the 50 fly and 100 fly at NCSAs in March 2019 after earning bronze in the 200 fly and taking seventh in the 100 fly at Metropolitan 13&O Age Groups.

Her best times include:

  • 50 fly – 26.09
  • 100 fly – 55.91
  • 200 fly – 2:09.41
  • 100 back – 58.18
  • 100 free – 54.14

A current senior at West Islip High School, Triglia is a three-time New York Federation Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 100 fly and 29th in the 100 back during her junior season while taking sixth in the former event as a sophomore.
