Report: De Bruin’s “B” Sample Shows Signs Of Tampering

Analysis of Irish swimmer Michelle De Bruin’s second urine sample has apparently revealed the same signs of adulteration found in the first sample, her lawyer said Friday. De Bruin’s “B” sample was tested Thursday at the IOC-accredited laboratory in Barcelona, Spain, in the presence of her lawyer and a biochemist from a Dublin hospital.
FINA declined to reveal the results immediately, saying the findings would be officially made public next week. De Bruin’s lawyer, Peter Lennon, said De Bruin was ”more determined that ever to fight any charges that may be formally brought against her.” FINA rules call for anything up to a lifetime ban for manipulation of a drug test.
