Reigning National Champion USC Tops 2022 Preseason Women’s CWPA Poll

Reigning national champion USC holds the top spot in the first women’s CWPA Poll of 2022, released on Wednesday.

USC is coming off its sixth national championships, having beaten No. 3 seed UCLA in the final last spring in an 18-9 romp.

The top four spots in the first poll of the season reflect the seeds entering the NCAA tournament last May. Stanford holds the second seed. The Cardinal had lost to UCLA in last year’s national semifinal. UCLA occupies the third spot with Arizona State fourth.

ASU, Hawaii (sixth) and Michigan (eighth) are the only non-California schools in the top 10.
