Reece Whitley to Throw Out First Pitch at Philadelphia Phillies Game
Swimming prodigy Reece Whitley will throw out the first pitch during the Philadelphia Phillies’ inaugural Swimmers Night at the Citizens Bank Park on April 15.
In a release just sent out, the Phillies announced the new promotion.
In honor of Swimmers Night, the First Pitch at the game will be thrown out by Reece Whitley, William Penn Charter School sophomore, Olympic hopeful, and S.I. Kids’ 2015 Sportskid of the Year!
The first 500 fans that purchase tickets through this promotion will receive a coupon for an exclusive Phillies Swimmers Cap!

Whitley is currently participating in the 2016 Eastern Interscholastic Championships being streamed live by Swimming World.
This isn’t the first time that a swimmer has thrown out the first pitch for the Phillies. Back in 2011, Maddy Crippen tossed the first pitch in honor of her fallen brother Fran Crippen as the Phillies honored the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation.
