Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Arno Kamminga are among a 15-strong Netherlands squad set for the World Short-Course Championships in Abu Dhabi.
Six women and nine men will compete in the United Arab Emirates from 16-21 December accompanied by coaches Mark Faber and Patrick Pearson.
Women:
Kira Toussaint, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Maaike de Waard, Tessa Giele, Marrit Steenbergen and Kim Busch.
Men:
Arno Kamminga, Thom de Boer, Luc Kroon, Jesse Puts, Stan Pijnenburg, Kenzo Simons, Thomas Verhoeven, Maarten Brzoskowski and Nyls Korstanje.
The Netherlands won 18 medals (eight gold, five silver and five bronze) at the European Short-Course Championships in Kazan, Russia, in early November to finish second in the standings behind the hosts.
National coach Faber is looking forward to the meet with confidence and told KNZB:
“Our swimmers showed their best side in Kazan. I assume that we will also perform well in Abu Dhabi, although the global competition there is of course a lot stronger.”
