NEW COMMIT: Rangy freestyler Andrew Maksymowski out of Irvine, California, who is one of the top recruits in this class, has pledged his verbal commitment to the University of Texas and will arrive in Austin in Fall 2026.
He will join Rowan Cox and Austin Carpenter as a member of the Longhorns’ Class of 2030.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Texas. First and foremost, I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches. Especially my Mom and Dad for their unwavering support throughout my swimming journey. I would also like to thank Coach Bowman, Coach Erik, and Coach Trevor along with their coaching staff for giving me and my family this opportunity. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey and I cannot wait to start this next chapter. Hook ‘em Horns!”
Maksymowski does his club swimming with Irvine Novaquatics. He earned six best times at Speedo Summer Championships back in July where his highest finish was a 10th-place showing in the 200m free.
Last December, he took seventh in the 200 free and ninth in both the 500 free and mile at Juniors West.
