Queens’ Nick Arakelian Provides Insight Into His Distance Training (Video Interview)
Queens’ Nick Arakelian, a multiple-time NCAA D2 champion, provides some insight into his distance training and his love of racing the 1650 free.

With his swim cap falling off throughout the final 200 yards, Queens’ Nick Arakelian took home his fourth victory this week as he swept the 1000 free, 400 IM, 500 free and 1650 free on subsequent nights. Arakelian was even nice enough to retrieve his cap after the win.
Arakelian won the 1650 free with a time of 15:10.33, while Saint Leo’s Daniel Bis finished second in 15:12.05 after initially battling with Arakelian throughout much of the race.
Queens’ Alex Menke took third in 15:16.84, while Drury’s Alec Morris picked up some big team points for the Panthers with a fifth-place 15:26.95.
Queens jumped out to a 352.5-316.5 lead following the event.

What a great way to finish off the meet.
Understandably teammate Matthew Josa got male swimmer of the meet but this guy would have been lly. Had Lobanov won a third eventnhecwould have merited inclusion but Arakelian turned in a performance worthy of a KING!
And he’s got trees mas anos too.
