Queens Head Coach Jeff Dugdale Architected Team Championships (Video Interview)
Under the tutelage of SwimMAC head coach David Marsh, his former head coach at Auburn University, Queens head coach Jeff Dugdale architected his team-title sweep of the NCAA Division II Championships.
Now, Dugdale looks forward to placing top talent like Matt Josa and Nick Arakelian onto U.S. National Teams.
In the interview, Dugdale references an architectural drawing of Queens’ facility, which had a national championship banner in it on purpose. Dugdale’s mentor Marsh tweeted out the drawing tonight.

Original report on team wins
Queens (Charlotte) reigned supreme by the end of the evening at the NCAA Division II Championships.
Both the men’s and the women’s teams ended long reigns by Drury, which had won 10 straight men’s titles and five of the last six women’s championships.
The men’s team took home the title over Drury, 433.5-417.5, while Lindenwood snared third overall with 359 points. Wayne State (285) and Florida Southern (273.5) closed out the top five teams.
The Queens women had a bit of an easier time of it with a 540.5-489.5 victory against Drury. Wingate (320), Nova Southeastern (216) and Wayne State (211) rounded out the top five.
Architected? My dictionary says architect is a noun. I don’t think you can just turn a noun into a verb on a whim….
There is a lack of consensus throughout various dictionaries when it comes to using architect as a verb, but there are at least two that have architected as the past participle of the verb architect as a synonym of design or make.
It made sense to me based on the interview where Queens’ facility drawings started off with a national championship banner.
Good work, Jason
Thanks, Duncan.
