Purdue Swims Past Illinois in Big Ten Women’s Dual

The Purdue University women’s swimming and diving team defeated Illinois in a Big Ten showdown on Saturday.

The Boilermakers won the meet 171-129.

Purdue’s Reagan Mattice won the 1000 freestyle in 9:55.82. Abby Marcukaitis won the 100 back in 54.07 and 200 back in 1:58.39. Campbell Scofield won the 200 butterfly in 1:59.37. Macy Folcik won the 200 breast in 2:14.05. Caitlin Hurley won the 500 free in 4:52.63. Keira Kask won the 100 fly in 54.49. Sophia McAfee won 3-meter diving with 324.83 points.

Illinois won the 200 medley relay as Sophia Paduano, Kayla Duran, Logan Kuehne and Isabella Wilhelm got to the wall in 1:40.58, just two hundredths of a second ahead of Purdue.

Kuehne won the 50 free in 23.15, holding off Purdue’s Lara Phipps (23.36).

Chloe Diner won the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.85. Sydney Stoll won the 200 free in 1:47.06 and 100 free in 49.98 ahead of Phipps (50.34). Sara Jass won the 200 IM in 1:59.77.
