Puerto Rican National Record Holder Emma Guglielmello Sends 2023 Verbal to Texas A&M

NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has recently landed a verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season from Junior National qualifier and in-state standout Emma Guglielmello of The Woodlands, Texas.
She told Swimming World:
“I am so honored and blessed to be able to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Texas A&M University! This has been a dream of mine for a long time and I wouldn’t be here without the love and support of my family, friends and coaches. I can’t wait for the years ahead with Coach Steve, Coach Caroline and my new Aggie family!! GIG’EM!!!”
Guglielmello trains year-round with Magnolia Aquatic Club under coaches Clayton Cagle and Terry Jones. She most recently placed 16th in the mile at the Winter Junior National West Championships and placed fourth in the 1500m free and fifth in the 800m free at West Fargo Futures this past summer.
While representing Puerto Rico internationally, she is the senior national record holder in the 1500 SCM free. She also owns the national marks in the 800/1500 LCM free and the 400/800 SCM for the 15-16 age group.
Her best times include:
- 1650 free – 16:51.67
- 1000 free – 10.06.79
- 500 free – 4:57.51
- 200 free – 1:53.97
- 400 IM – 4:36.95
Currently a junior at The Woodlands High School, Guglielmello placed 11th in the 500 free at the Texas 6A State Championships during her sophomore season. She is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and was a USA National Diversity Select Camp participant in 2020.
