Princeton Snags 2026 Verbal From Irvine Novaquatics’ Peter Vu
NEW COMMIT: Princeton University has earned a verbal commitment* for Fall 2026 from Junior National qualifier Peter Vu out of Fountain Valley, California.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Princeton University to further my academic and swimming career. First and foremost, I would like to thank God for guiding me through every step of the way. I want to give a huge thanks to my parents, family, friends, and coaches for supporting me on this journey, especially Coach Nathan who has helped me become the person I am today. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Matt and Coach Mia for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. Go Tigers!!!”
A breaststroker and mid-distance freestyler, Vu does his club swimming with Irvine Novaquatics. He earned silver in the 200m free and 400m free this past summer at Fullerton Sectionals before going on to take 13th in the 200m breast at Speedo Summer Championships.
His best times include:
- 200 breast – 1:58.16
- 100 breast – 54.63
- 500 free – 4:27.94
- 200 free – 1:38.50
Vu is currently a junior at Fountain Valley High School. He placed second in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 free at the 2024 CIF Southern Section Championship after taking seventh in the 100 breast and 12th in the 200 IM as a freshman.
Princeton finished second at the 2024 Ivy League Championships. Vu would’ve scored in the B-final in both the 100 and 200 breast at last year’s conference meet.
*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER:* A “verbal commitment” does not guarantee admission. An Ivy League coach cannot guarantee admission but can only commit support in the admissions process.
