POLL: What Would You Rather Have: An Olympic Medal or World Record? (VOTE HERE)

For athletes who reach the pinnacle of the sport, pursuing an Olympic podium and world records are targets of their training. For years, they have worked tirelessly to place themselves in esteemed company, their talent enabling them to represent their country on the international stage. Some see their efforts rewarded with both Olympic medals and world-record status.

But what if you were given the choice and could only select one. Would you prefer to set a world record, or would you lean toward choosing a piece of Olympic hardware. A world record means no one in history has ever been faster. You are the measuring stick for what speed means in a specific event. On the other hand, the Olympics only rolls around every four years and it is the defining competition in the sport. Standing on that podium and watching your flag lift to the rafters is a feat few will know.

So, if you were given the choice, what would you choose? A world record? Or, an Olympic medal. Cast your vote in the poll below to have your voice heard.

A Olympic medal is an honor but not necessarily a world record. A world record is the best in the world.👍🏽

I voted for world record. If the choice had been for an Olympic GOLD medal, that would have been the choice. Pretty significant difference.
