Poll: What Was the Top Gold-Medal Performance By a Male Swimmer at the Paris Olympics (Vote Here!)

Earlier this week, Swimming World ran a poll asking its readership to vote for the best gold-medal performance by a female at the recently concluded Olympic Games in Paris. After two full days of voting, the United States’ Torri Huske (100 butterfly) earned a narrow victory over Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom (100 freestyle) and Canada’s Summer McIntosh (200 butterfly). Readers were obviously taken by Huske’s come-from-behind win over countrywoman Gretchen Walsh.

Now, it is time to vote for the best individual performance by a male gold medalist at La Defense Arena. Once again, there are 14 choices from which to select – the number of individual events on the Olympic program. Frenchman Leon Marchand appears on the ballot four times, once each for his gold medals earned at a home Games. Did one of his victories stand out above the others?

Beyond Marchand, China’s Pan Zhanle (100 freestyle) and American Bobby Finke (1500 freestyle) set world records in Paris. Meanwhile, solo golds were secured by Cam McEvoy (50 freestyle), David Popovici (200 freestyle), Lukas Martens (400 freestyle), Daniel Wiffen (800 freestyle), Thomas Ceccon (100 backstroke), Hubert Kos (200 backstroke), Nicolo Martinenghi (100 breaststroke) and Kristof Milak (100 butterfly).

Who will get your vote?
