Pepperdine Scores In-State Commitment from Canyons Aquatic Club’s Allison Cho
NEW COMMIT: Pepperdine University has gained a new in-state commitment from Valencia, Calif. sprinter Allison Cho. Cho, who plans to major in sports administration, will join the Waves this fall.
Cho does her club swimming with Canyons Aquatic Club and most recently raced at the Husky Invite this past November where she recorded a pair of lifetime bests. She raced four events at Santa Clarita Speedo Sectionals this summer and earned the bronze in the 50m free at the RAA Junior Olympics. Also competing for Valencia High School, Cho competed at the CIF-Southern Section Championships during her junior season and was named the Santa Clarita Athlete of the Week last April.
She told Swimming World:
“I am really excited to continue my academic and swim career at Pepperdine University! Thank you to my family, friends, teammates and coaches who have helped me through this process and to those who helped me get where I am today! Go Waves!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.06
- 100 free – 52.91
- 200 free – 1:57.75
- 200 IM – 2:12.12
When she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2023, Cho will join a sprint group that includes Amy Griffin and Sammie Slater. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50 free and 100 free at the 2018 PCSC Championships where Pepperdine finished fifth overall in the team standings.
