Brooke Zukowski has given her verbal commitment to the University of New Mexico. The breaststroker swims for the Butler Y Aquatic Club in Pennsylvania.
Zukowski’s best times are:
100/200 Breaststroke: 1:03.43/2:18.42
200 IM: 2:07.20
She posted best times in both yards breaststroke events in 2016. Her success continued at this summer’s YMCA Nationals where Zukowski finished in the top eight in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststrokes. Last March at the 2016 Pennsylvania High School state championships, Zukowski was third in the 100 breaststoke (1:03.13) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:07.47).
For the Lobos, she would have been a B finalist in both breaststroke events at last year’s Mountain West Conference Championships. New Mexico finished seventh of ten teams in the meet. Freshman Mareike Foester was the Lobos’ top finisher in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:03.06. She will be a junior when Zukowski gets to Albuquerque next fall.
