Pennsylvania 3A State 50 Freestyle Champion Quinn Buck Chooses South Carolina
NEW COMMIT: The University of South Carolina has received their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Quinn Buck of Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“Between bringing a new coaching staff coming in and the university as a whole on the rise USC provided the best opportunity to better my academics and athletics. The program is on the rise and I cannot wait to be a part of it.”
A talented sprinter, Buck does his club swimming with Central Bucks Swim Team and last competed at the Senior Keystone Classic in March where he earned four best times.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 20.29
- 100 free – 45.68
- 200 free – 1:45.39
- 100 fly – 52.35
- 100 breast – 59.38
Also competing for La Salle College High School, Buck won the 50 free at the Pennsylvania 3A State Championships as a junior after taking ninth in that event during his sophomore season. He also swam on three relays en route to helping his team clinch their fifth straight team title.
Jeff Poppell is currently in his first season at the helm of the Gamecocks’ program.
