Penn Receives Verbal Commitment From Versatile Anna Feng
NEW COMMIT: Hopkinton, Mass. native Anna Feng has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Pennsylvania as a member of the class of 2023.
Feng does her club swimming with Crimson Aquatics under head coach Peter Zeiger where she is a five-time Junior National qualifier. She recently capped off her long course season with two best times at the Futures Championships in Richmond. She was a four-time New England Senior Championship finalist and won the 200 fly (2:00.99) at the New England 15-18 Age Group Championships.
She told Swimming World:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at U Penn. The school will provide me excellent opportunity to push boundaries in both my education and swimming. I love the beautiful campus and the surrounding city of Philadelphia. I can’t wait to be a part of this amazing team in 2019!”
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:04.42
- 200 breast – 2:18.34
- 100 fly – 55.26
- 200 fly – 1:59.94
- 200 IM – 2:03.18
- 400 IM – 4:22.41
Feng’s versatility will be extremely valuable for Penn when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season. Her top 100 and 200 breast times would’ve made her the fastest Quaker at the 2018 Ivy League Championships. Her 200 fly time would’ve scored in the A-final at the conference meet and her 200 IM would’ve been the fastest on the team last season.
*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER:* A “verbal commitment” does not guarantee admission. An Ivy League coach cannot guarantee admission but can only commit support in the admissions process.
