IRVINE, California, August 19. JAPAN's Junya Koga claimed the men's 50 back crown to close the second night of individual events at the Pan Pacific Championships.

Koga claimed the title in 24.86 to tie his fifth-ranked season best time set at the Japan Nationals back in April. Australia's Ashley Delaney took second in 24.98, while USA's Nick Thoman finished third in 25.02.

USA's David Plummer (25.09), Australia's Ben Treffers (25.32), Japan's Ryosuke Irie (25.41), Brazil's Glauber Silva (25.65) and Brazil's Guilherme Guido (25.83) placed fourth through eighth.

Japan's Masafumi Yamaguchi won the B final with a time of 25.34 to crack the top 25.
