Pac-12 Weekly Awards: USC’s Isabelle Odgers, Utah’s Andrei Ungur Lead Honorees

The Pac-12 Conference has announced its weekly swimming and diving honors.

PAC-12 WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Isabelle Odgers, Gr., USC (Aliso Viejo, Calif.)

  • Contributed 24 points between individual events and relay events to the Trojan’s narrow win over UCLA.
  • Odgers picked up two individual wins in the 200-individual medley (1:56.28) and 200-breaststroke (2:06.97), swimming a season best in the latter event.
  • Despite earning second in the 100-breaststroke, Odgers swam a career-best time of 58.88.
  • Finished third alongside the 200-medley relay team with a time of 1:39.37.
  • First Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Week award.

ALSO NOMINATED: Claire Curzan, STAN.

PAC-12 WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Nike Agunbiade, Sr., USC (Pacifica, Calif.)

  • Helped the Trojans to a top-25 152-148 victory over No. 24 UCLA, earning a single diving win and a runner-up finish.
  • In the Women’s 3-Meter, Agunbiade finished first out of 12 divers with a final score of 337.95.
  • Later in the day, Agunbiade saw a close second-place finish, only five points off from the first place spot finishing with a score of 291.40.
  • First Pac-12 Women’s Diver of the Week award.

PAC-12 MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Andrei Ungur, Sr., Utah (Baia Mare, Romania)

  • Finished the weekend meet earning two of the Utes’ six individual wins against USC.
  • Just over half a second away from his all-time record in the 100 backstroke, Ungur finished with a time of 45.65 and a first-place title.
  • His first-place time of 47.19 in the 100-fly was a personal best as well as a seventh all-time finish in the Utah record book.
  • First Pac-12 Men’s Swimmer of the Week award.

ALSO NOMINATED: Harry Homans, USC.

PAC-12 MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Elias Peterson, Fr., Utah (Sweden)

  • Despite the Utes taking a loss to the Trojans, Peterson picked up a first and second place finish on the boards.
  • Peterson earned the top place in the Men’s 3-Meter, putting up a 365.08 finish that was just shy of his personal best and earned him an NCAA qualifying mark.
  • In the Men’s 1-Meter, a score of 331.25 put Peterson in second overall and well above the NCAA qualifying standard.
  • Second Pac-12 Men’s Diver of the Week award (Jan. 11, 2023).
