Pac-12 Honors: USC’s Anicka Delgado, Arizona State’s Zalan Sarkany Lead Awards

The Pac-12 Conference announced its swimmers and divers of the week.

PAC-12 WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Anicka Delgado, Sr., USC (Laguna Hills, Calif.)

  • Against UNLV the senior won a pair of individual events and swam on a championship relay to help USC to a 168-89 sweep the Rebels.
  • Captured first place finishes in the 50 Free (23.35) and 100 Fly (55.14), going on to swim a 23.55 split in the Trojan’s winning 200 Free relay (1:33.73).
  • Picked up a second place finish behind another Trojan quad in the 200 Medley, swimming a 23.87 Fly split to take second (1:42.17).
  • First career Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Week award.

PAC-12 WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Holly Waxman, Jr., UTAH (Leeds, England)

  • Putting together her first two-win performance of the season, Waxman helped the Utes to their 219-81 win over Colorado Meda.
  • On the 1 Meter the Junior tallied 289.95 followed by a pileup of 312.53 points on the 3 Meter to earn her two NCAA Championship qualifying marks.
  • Third career Pac-12 Women’s Diver of the Month/Week award and second this season (Jan. 30, 2023; November 2023).

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Kelsey Wasikowski, ARIZ; Ana Jin-Schiff, UCLA; Erin Palmer, UTAH.

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Brooke Earley, ARIZ.

PAC-12 MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Zalan Sarkany, So., ASU (Budapest, Hungary) 

  • In his first meet of the season the sophomore broke two school and one personal record, swimming a time that topped the 2023 NCAA Champion.
  • In his 1650 Free swim, Sarkany broke his own program record with a time of 14:28.09. En Route to it, he broke yet another personal program record in the 1000 free (8:46.42).
  • In the 500 Free, a personal best time of 4:15.02 earned him his second win of the weekend and a sweep of the distance events against Grand Canyon.
  • The sophomore also competed with the Sun Devil’s 400 Free Relay team, swimming a 21.58 split and taking home third.
  • First career Pac-12 Men’s Diver of the Week award.

PAC-12 MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Elias Petersen, So., UTAH (Malmo, Sweden)

  • Against Colorado Mesa, Peterson posted two first place finishes for the fourth time this season assisting the Utes in their 201-97 victory over the Mavericks.
  • In the 1 Meter, the sophomore scored a 328.65, going on to score a 396.68 in the 3 Meter that bested the competition by
  • over 80 points.
  • Fifth career Pac-12 Men’s Diver of the Month/Week and third this season (Jan. 11, 2023; Feb. 14, 2023; October, 2023; November, 2023).
