The 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Championships continued with the Day 4 prelims on Saturday from Federal Way, Wash.
The prelims session consisted of the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly. The early heats of the 1650 free will follow leading up to finals.
Stanford is well ahead in the team race and took some top seeds on the final day, including Claire Curzan in the 200 backstroke, Torri Huske in the 100 free and Charlotte Hook in the 200 fly.

Pac-12 Women’s 200 Backstroke
Stanford’s Claire Curzan cruised to the top seed in the 200 backstroke to start the final day of the conference championship meet.
The freshman touched the wall in 1:50.93, more than two seconds off her seed time, and as she has shown all week, she will likely have plenty of speed in reserve for tonight’s final.
She leads a final that will have five Stanford swimmers and three Cal swimmers.
Cal took the second and third seeds with Isabelle Stadden (1:52.36) and Mia Motekaitis (1:53.42).
Stanford went 4-5-6 with freshman Natalie Mannion (1:53.49), senior Lucie Nordmann (1:53.70 and senior Taylor Ruck (1:53.78).
Of note, in addition to Curzan, Stadden and Ruck were well off their top times and could be set up for a pretty fast final.
Cal sophomore Annika McEnroe took the seventh spot (1:54.28) and Stanford senior Alex Crisera was eighth (1:54.84).

Pac-12 Women’s 100 Free
Stanford sophomore Torri Huske claimed another top seed, this time in the 100 free. She got to the wall in 48.01, more than a second off of her seed time.
Teammate Kayla Wilson was second to the wall, touching in 48.32, just one hundredth of a second ahead of Cal senior Emma Davidson (48.33).
UCLA senior Rachel Rhee was fourth (48.52), followed by USC’s Anicka Delgado (48.59), Elise Garcia (48.78), Stanford’s Amy Tang (48.81), while UCLA’s Claire Grover (48.92) and Cal’s Emily Gantriis (48.92) tied for eighth and will have a swim off for the final spot.

Pac-12 Women’s 200 Breaststroke
Just four tenths of a second separated USC teammates Kaitlyn Dobler and Isabelle Odgers in the 200 breaststroke prelims.
Dobler took the top seed in 2:08.42, while Odgers, the defending champion, was just behind in 2:08.82. Dobler was just under her seed time, while Odgers was two seconds faster than her seed time.
Stanford senior Allie Raab took the third seed in 2:10.21, dropping four seconds from her seed. Washington State freshman Emily Lundgren was fourth (2:11.25), ahead of UCLA sophomore Eva Carlson (2:11.52), Stanford sophomore Sam Tadder (2:12.29), USC freshman Katherine Adams (2:12.46) and Utah senior Charity Pittard (2:13.15).

Pac-12 Women’s 200 Butterfly
Stanford freshman Charlotte Hook was nearly a second faster than the field to take the top seed in the 200 butterfly. Her time of 1:53.70 was more than a half second off her seed time.
Arizona State senior Lindsay Looney snagged the second seed with a swim of 1:54.44, the of Cal senior Rachel Klinker (1:55.01).
Stanford freshman Lucy Bell took the fourth spot, followed by Stanford sophomore Lillie Nordmann (1:55.53), Cal sophomore Leah Polonsky (1:56.15), Arizona State senior Jade Foelske (1:56.18) and Washington State freshman Dori Hathazi (1:56.39).
