Open Water Junior National Champion Ivan Puskovitch Verbally Commits to USC

NEW COMMIT: Open water star Ivan Puskovitch has announced his verbal commitment to swim for the University of Southern California, beginning in the fall of 2019.

Puskovitch is a two time Open Water World Junior qualifier. Earlier this month he was the USA Swimming Open Water 7.5K Junior National Champion. The Trojans have a history of attracting and producing open water talent, including Haley AndersonBecca Mann, and Erica Sullivan.

From West Chester, PA, Puskovitch is a junior at Episcopal Academy where he is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and a NISCA All-American. He was the 2018 Easterns Champion in the 500 freestyle, and was the four time Inter Academic League Champion in the 500 freestyle and 200 IM. He does his club swimming for Episcopal Academy Aquatic Club. On both teams Puskovitch is coached by Chris Lear.

He said,

Puskovitch gets better with distance, but also has some strong IMs. His lifetime bests are (SCY/LCM):

  • 500/400 Free: 4:27.35/3:59.46
  • 1000/800 Free: 9:20.70/8:14.50
  • 1650/1500 Free: 15:32.73/15:45.68
  • 200 IM: 1:50.39/2:09.07
  • 400 IM: 3:54.22/4:28.26
  • 200 Fly: 1:53.43/2:06.73
