NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has landed one of the top recruits in the Class of 2023: U.S. National Junior Team member Camille Spink of Haymarket, Virginia.

She will join Sophie Brison as a member of the Lady Vols at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m absolutely THRILLED to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Tennessee!! I couldn’t have done it without the support and guidance from all my family, friends, teammates, and coaches. I cannot wait to be a part of the Tennessee family and a Lady Vol! GO VOLS”

Spink trains with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and was selected to represent Team USA at the FINA World Cup stops in Berlin and Budapest this past October. She placed eighth in the 50m back in Budapest. At Wave II of Olympic Trials, she advanced to semifinals of the 50m free where she placed 17th overall.

Spink also won the 100m free at Richmond Futures this past summer after posting five top-5 finishes at the PVC Senior Long Course Championships.

She currently owns the fastest times in both the 50 free and 100 free in her class.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 22.38
  • 100 free – 48.93
  • 200 free – 1:46.12
  • 500 free – 4:49.51

Currently a junior at Battlefield High School, Spink won the 50/100 free as a sophomore at the Virginia Class 6 State Championships after earning gold in the 100/200 free during her freshman season. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.

Spink will make an immediate impact both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Lady Vols as a member of the Class of 2027. She would’ve ranked 26th in the 50 free at the 2021 NCAA Championships, also ranking 29th in the 100 free.
