Olympian Rebecca Soni Pulls Off Practice Crash Tonight at Beach Cities Swimming
LOS ANGELES, California, February 5. WHEN we had a chance to talk to now-retired Rebecca Soni in her first post-retirement interview, Soni definitely voiced her excitement at passing along some of her vast knowledge along with partner Ariana Kukors with a new venture called Practice Crashers.
This evening, Soni pulled off her first crash sans Kukors (who is in Sochi covering the 2014 Winter Olympics for King 5 of Seattle), as Soni decided to drop in on a team close to where she lives in Los Angeles. After asking locals which club Soni should crash, her social media followers overwhelmed her with requests to check out Beach Cities Swimming.
BCS is coached by Monique Shelton, who has had a long and illustrious coaching career that includes stops at Team Santa Monica, Streamline Aquatics, Phoenix Swim Club, Scottsdale Aquatic Club and various collegiate programs. Shelton definitely welcomed the Olympian this evening as her swimmers had the surprise of a lifetime.
The Practice Crash in LA made a lot of sense as Soni is generating some publicity for an Atlas Peak Performances Workshop in Torrance, Calif., next month. For more information on the workshop, check out Soni’s web site.
