NEW COMMIT: The University of Missouri has received a new verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from U.S. Open qualifier Piper McNeil of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She will join Kylee Sullivan as a member of the Tigers’ Class of 2027.

She told Swimming World:

“I chose the University of Missouri because I really bonded with the coaches and team and I felt like I could grow as an athlete, student and person.”

A versatile swimmer, McNeil trains year-round with American Energy Swim Club and placed 14th in the 100m back at the Speedo Summer West Championships after posting a trio of top-8 finishes at Lenexa Sectionals this past summer. Last winter, she won the 100 back and was the runner-up in two events at Jenks Sectionals before going on to final in four races at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup in Des Moines.

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 55.49
  • 200 back – 2:01.06
  • 200 IM – 2:03.64
  • 100 fly – 57.59
  • 100 free – 52.88

Currently a junior at Shawnee High School, McNeil is a seven-time Oklahoma 6A State Championship gold medalist. She owns the state record in the 100 back, too.

She has also earned NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors and has twice been named the Oklahoma Swimmer of the Year.
