Ohio’s Liam Halpin Chooses University of Buffalo

Liam Halpin has announced his commitment to swim at the University of Buffalo starting next fall.
Halpin is a versatile swimmer, with best events of the 100 and 200 butterfly, 200 and 400 IM, and 200 freestyle.
Halpin’s best times:
100/200 Butterfly: 51.53/1:51.02
200/400 IM: 1:57.10/4:06.05
200 Freestyle: 1:42.67
He swims for the Kettering South Community Family YMCA in Ohio. He attends Dayton Oakwood High School. At the 2016 Ohio Division 2 High School State Championships, Halpin finished fifth in the 200 freestyle in a lifetime best and seventh in the 100 butterfly (52.13).
Buffalo competes in the Mid-American Conference. Halpin would have finished in the B final of the 200 butterfly at last season’s meet.
Halpin told Swimming World, “I chose Buffalo not only for the great academics, but also for the amazing team atmosphere.”
