Ohio State Sweeps Penn State in Big Ten Showdown

The Ohio State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams swept Penn State in Big Ten battle on Friday.

The Ohio State women defeated Penn State 243-57.

The Buckeyes won the men’s meet 173-127.

The Ohio State women started with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Delia Lloyd, Maria Ramos, Katherine Zenick and Rachel Bockrath touched the wall in 1:37.87.

Bockrath won the 100 free in 48.78.

Ohio State’s Nyah Funderburke won the 100 backstroke in 51.82 and 100 butterfly in 53.27. Jessica Eden won the 200 butterfly in 1:58.52 and 200 backstroke in 1:58.37.

Mila Nikanorov won the 1000 free in 9:30.49 and 500 free in 4:42.73 for Ohio State. Sienna Angove won the 200 free in 1:45.17. Reese Dehen won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.64. Erin Little won the 50 free in 22.73. Ava DeAngelis won the 200 breast in 2:10.65. Paige Delma won the 200 IM in 1:59.35.

In diving, Ohio State’s Lena Hentschel won 3-meter with 349.43 points just ahead of teammate Paola Pineda (345.45).

Little, Angove, Lloyd and Bockrath won the 400 free relay in 3:15.29.

In the men’s meet, Ohio State’s Marten Perecinsky won the 200 backstroke in 1:43.53.

Ohio State’s Mason Edmund won the 1000 free in 9:01.26. Tomas Navikonis won the 200 free in 1:34.71. Tristan Jankovics won the 100 breast in 53.38 and 200 breast in 1:55.94. Alex Axon won the 500 free in 4:19.68.

OSU diver Kylie Flory won the 3-meter event with 349.05 points.

Navikonis, Evan Fentress, Mario McDonald and Daniel Baltes won the 400 free relay in 2:55.05 for Ohio State.

Penn State’s Cooper Morley, Mariano Lazzerini, Matthew Bittner and Tylor Kim won the 200 medley relay in 1:25.41.

Morley won the 100 back in 46.21 and 200 100 fly in 47.19. Kim won the 50 free in 19.77 and 100 free (43.27). Alex Karahalis won the 200 fly in 1:45.57 and 200 IM in 1:45.94.
