Ohio State Receives 2021 Verbal Commitment from Machine Aquatics’ Paige Hall
NEW COMMIT: Vienna, Va. native Paige Hall has announced her verbal commitment to The Ohio State University and will join Gwen Woodbury with the Buckeyes in the fall of 2021.
Hall, who owns four Junior National standards, does her club swimming with Machine Aquatics and placed 24th in the 100m back at Junior Nationals this past summer after taking fourth in the 200m back at Potomac Valley Seniors. Last winter, she recorded 100% best times at NCAP’s Tom Dolan Invite before going on to final in the 200 back at NCSAs.
A current junior at Bishop O’Connell School, Hall is a four-time VISAA State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was the 100 back runner-up and earned bronze in the 50 free as a sophomore while finishing third and second, respectively, in those events during her rookie season.
She told Swimming World:
“I chose this school because for many reasons but I was most impressed with their beautiful campus and facilities and their unmatched resources for OSU student athletes. I was also impressed by how well I got along with the team. I love the relationship the teammates share with each other and the coaches. I look forward to furthering my athletic and academic careers at such an amazing school. I want to thank my amazing coaches and teammates at Machine Aquatics as well as my friends and family for all of their love and support.”
Her best times include:
- 50 back – 26.48
- 100 back – 55.14
- 200 back – 1:58.96
- 200 IM – 2:06.97
Hall will add valuable depth to the Buckeyes’ backstroke training group when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2025. It took a 54.31/1:58.80 to score in the 100/200 back at the 2019 Big Ten Championships, but Hall has consistently made improvements each season and still has just under two years of club swimming still to go.
