Ohio State 50/100 Free Champion Hannah Hill Sends 2021 Verbal to Purdue
NEW COMMIT: Purdue University has added another verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Springboro, Ohio native Hannah Hill.
She will join Jenna Marquette, Cecilie Wiuff, Audrey Crowel and Mahala Erlandson in West Lafayette as a member of the Boilermakers’ class of 2025.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to Purdue! Not only am I proud to call myself a Boilermaker, but an athlete who is ready to help Purdue advance in the Big10 and the NCAA. Boiler up!! ?”
A versatile swimmer, Hill does her club swimming with Mason Manta Rays under head coach Ken Heis and is a Junior National qualifier. She raced to 19th place in the 100 free at Juniors East in December and raced three events at Junior Nationals last summer.
She also swam the butterfly leg on Mason Manta Rays’ 15-18 National Age Group record-setting mixed medley relay in July 2019.
Her best times include:
- 50 Free – 23.04
- 100 Free – 50.15
- 50 Fly – 24.58
- 100 Fly – 56.96
- 50 Back – 26.11
- 100 Back – 56.05
Also competing for Springboro High School under coach Tucker Flaherty, Hill is a four-time Ohio State Championship finalist. The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won both the 50 free and 100 free as a junior while taking eighth in the 100 free during her sophomore season.
She was also awarded the Ohio High School Swimming Coaches Association ALL-OHIO Award in 2020.
Hill will make an immediate impact for the Boilermakers both individually and on relays as her best times already rank near the top of their lineup from last season. She would’ve placed in the C-final of the 100 free at the 2020 Big Ten Championships and is just shy of scoring range in the 50 free.
