Ohio Native Amy Evans Lends Commitment to Lynn University
NEW COMMIT: Mansfield, Ohio native Amy Evans will head to the Sunshine State for her college career after committing to Lynn University as a member of the Fighting Knights’ Class of 2025.
She told Swimming World:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Lynn University! I am so thankful for my friends, family, teammates, and coaches who have supported me along the way. Go Fighting Knights!”
Evans, who trains year-round with Endeavor Performance Swim Club, last competed at the MAKO Senior Circuit in March 2020 where she earned four best times. She also raced the 100 breast at the Ned Reeb Invitational in December 2019 and finaled in the 50 fly at the Tim Myers Senior meet the month prior.
Her best times include:
- 50 fly – 27.52
- 100 fly – 1:00.67
- 200 IM – 2:19.17
- 50 breast – 33.09
- 100 breast – 1:10.81
Also competing for Ontario High School, Evans is a four-time Northwest District Championship finalist. She placed sixth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 100 breast as a junior while taking fourth in the former event during her sophomore season.
Lynn will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she arrives on campus in the fall of 2021. Under head coach Niki Alvarez, the Fighting Knights finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 Sunshine State Conference Championships.
