Oakland Swimming Starts Season Against Horizon League Foes Milwaukee, Green Bay
ROCHESTER, Michigan, October 9. The Oakland swimming and diving team gets the 2014-15 campaign underway this weekend when the Golden Grizzlies travel to Wisconsin to face a pair of Horizon League foes in dual action.
Oakland will take on Milwaukee Friday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. CT at the Klotsche Natatorium in the season-opening event for both teams. The Golden Grizzlies will then head north to face Green Bay Saturday, Oct. 11 at 11:30 a.m. CT.
Oakland Notes: Freshman Holly Morren and sophomore Aleksander Danielewski were both two-time individual winners as the duo led their respective Gold teams to victories over the Black squads in the program’s annual intrasquad meet Sept. 26.
The 2014-15 season marks the second year for Oakland as a member of the Horizon League. During its debut season, Oakland won both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving championships, extending both teams streaks of consecutive conference championships at the NCAA Division I level to 15 apiece.
Coming Up: Oakland will take part in a double dual at Northwestern with Horizon League foe UIC Saturday, Oct. 25.
